The VI Peel is a medical-grade chemical peel. A peel gently clears away tired, damaged surface skin so fresher skin can take its place. The VI Peel does this with a careful blend of medical-grade ingredients, including TCA, retinoic acid, and vitamin C, that work together to improve tone and texture. It is used for uneven skin tone, dark spots, dullness, rough texture, fine lines, sun damage, melasma, and acne (including some acne scarring). It is well known for being effective and comfortable at the same time. Most people feel only a brief tingle during application, yet the peel goes on doing real work beneath the surface.
The VI Peel comes in a few versions, each suited to a different concern: one focused on pigment and melasma, one for acne-prone skin, one for early signs of aging. At your consultation, we look at your skin and your goals and choose the version that fits you. A VI Peel visit is short, often about 30 minutes. We cleanse your skin, apply the peel solution in layers, and send you home with the peel still working and a simple take-home kit.
This is the part to plan for: the VI Peel is a peeling peel, and around the third day light flaking begins and continues for three to five more days. It is mild peeling, not dramatic, and most people go about their normal lives throughout. Many patients plan their peel a week or so before an important event. One reason we rely on the VI Peel is that it is designed to be used safely across all skin tones, which many peels are not. We still look carefully at your skin and choose the right approach, but the VI Peel gives us a peel we can offer with confidence to nearly every patient.
Skin is personal. Not every peel is right for every skin type, and the version we choose depends on your goals, your skin tone, and what your skin can tolerate. We plan carefully so your peel does real work without setting you back.
